On a Friday evening in June, Bill thanked his guests for coming to his 60th Birthday Weekend and ended his speech with one of his favorite quotes by the one and only Dr. Seuss, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” I couldn’t help but soak those few words in, as I gazed the crowd and thought to myself – WOW! What a memory we have designed for Bill’s close family and friends.
As guests arrived at their hotels, they were immediately showered with swag bags filled with cookies from The Cookie Jar MS, custom koozies, a survival kit, and other fun treats. The weekend then began with a casual dinner at Taylor Grocery. The guests where shuttled by Cline Tours from their hotels The Graduate, The Courtyard Marriott, and The Chancellor's House. As friends and family arrived, they were greeted by an atmosphere reminiscent of Ole Miss tailgating. While the guests dined on Taylor Grocery’s famous catfish, they were entertained by old time fiddle tunes played by Greasy Creek. The evening ended with heartfelt toasts and an after party at Jinsei. Grace Worthy, the videographer for the event, captured every moment perfectly. It was an amazing night, but the weekend celebration was just getting started!
Saturday morning the guests woke up early for a trolley tour around Oxford provided by Rebel Ride. Beginning at The Square, the tour included stops along the way such as Rowan Oak, the Ole Miss campus and ended as guest took Jack Daniels shots at Faulkner’s Grave. After seeing all the Oxford sights, the trolley transported guests to Yalobusha Brewery in Water Valley. While enjoying all the brewery's amenities, guests ate lunch from the YoknapaTaco Food Truck and sipped iced cold beer made on site.
Later that night when the guests arrived at The Lyric to a red carpet ending in a step n repeat banner - the perfect spot to stop for a photo-op. As guests walked through the rest of the venue, they were entertained with 70s music performed by Yacht Rock Revue. The retro décor including shag rugs and disco balls provided by Details Specialty Rentals, and an incredible cake created by Sweet T’s Bakery completed the ambience of the night. Everyone indulged in the late night menu prepared by A&N Catering which featured a breakfast meets chicken-on-a-stick theme. The entire event was captured seamlessly by Eliza Kennard Photography, leaving Bill and his family with a lasting memories of the night. Happy 60th Birthday Bill! We wish you nothing but the best!
